Mrs. Cutler's Welcome Letter

Welcome to the Fifth Grade
Dear Fifth Grade Parents:
As we begin a new school year, all of us are filled with hopes and expectations, and if truth be known, with more-than-a-few anxieties as well. Whether you’re an adult remembering your past, or a child on the brink of your future, the beginning of the school year is always accompanied by butterflies floating around in our stomachs. This letter is an attempt to calm your nerves by telling you a little bit about myself.
My name is Josie Cutler and I am very excited to be your child’s Fifth Grade teacher this school year. I have taught school full time for the past 12 years and part time for about 5 years.  I’ve taught kindergarten, 4th and 5th grade, 6th grade math, middle school science, elementary art and secondary art.   I’m also married and have 3 children.  My oldest will be a freshman at Marshall University this fall (GO HERD!!) and my other 2 children go to BMS and CMHS (8th and 9th grades).   I can’t leave out the fact that I also have a beautiful Old English Sheep dog whose name is Lord Dunmore!   He is the baby of our family and very spoiled!  When I’m not teaching or spending time with my family I enjoy painting.  I’ve spent a great many weekends painting murals for people.   If you’ve never picked up a paint brush, you need to give it a try. Painting is a great way to relax and get rid of some stress!
I want you to know that I count it a privilege to be your child’s teacher and I’m confident that this is going to be a wonderful year.  I will do my best to maintain open communication with you and to be available when you have questions or concerns.

 Thank you,
Josie Cutler
